Google Chrome Overtakes IE "Statcounter"

Chrome finally beats Internet Explorer

According to StatCounter’s data. Google’s Chrome web browser has overtaken Microsoft’s Internet Explorer. Whose measurements for May reveal that Chrome finally managed to pull ahead of its rival. The stat-counting firm compiled data for the week of May 14th through May 20th, showing that Chrome had a market share of 32.76%, compared with IE’s 31.94%.

Now, Statcounter is showing that Chrome might have overtaken Internet Explorer for good. As seen above, Chrome has gained over a 10% higher share of the market since this time last year, and has done so at the expense of both Microsoft and Mozilla

Chrome’s first place naturally comes at Internet Explorer’s expense, but the results show that Firefox is also suffering losses in its user base. Safari and Opera continue to occupy the fourth and fifth places respectively.

Statcounter : is widely used as a standard for measuring browser usage — by those in the industry, no less and, as I pointed out, it may not be 100 percent accurate but its findings reflect the overall trend that Chrome is on its way to the top, if it isn’t already.
